DANCE CAVISE NEWS

Letter From The Directors

Friends,

It is hard to believe that we are starting our 13th year. In the Winter of 1989, Lori and I opened a one-room studio on Boston Post Road. Now, with four studios and over 600 students, we are proud to announce another milestone in the Dance Cavise record books. This September we will open a 2nd location near Pound Ridge,New York. Our new satellite studio, Dance Cavise North, is 2000 square feet of beautiful dance space. Managed by Lori, we will offer a full dance program six days a week. Please read the next article about our Open House on Sunday, June 3rd.
On a more somber note… We were all saddened by the loss of one of our teachers. Larry Post, our Advanced Jazz teacher, passed away while doing what he loved most…. Dancing. God makes choices that we sometimes don't understand, but we have to accept them. We will always remember Larry for the love and talent that he shared with us. Like he always said… "Via con Dios".

With love, Joe

Beauty and the Ballet

This past March, Irina Dvorovenko, Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre guided our young dancers through a master class. At Dance Cavise, we pride ourselves on having an excellent teaching staff, which enables our dancers to study with some of the best teachers and dancers, in the country. Look for more master classes during our summer intensive program.

We are excited and pleased to announce the Grand Opening of our second location, Dance Cavise North. An Open House will be held on Sunday, June 3rd from 10AM to 1PM at our new studio located in Pound Ridge, New York. Events are scheduled all day at the Oak Ridge Commons on Route 123, featuring our own Off Center Youth Ensemble. We will also be accepting registration for local dancers for the upcoming Fall/Spring 2002 season, offering a 10% discount to any student paying in full. Beginning in September of this year, Lori Cavise will manage the newly renovated studio that will offer all the classes at all levels including Creative Movement, Ballet, Tap, Jazz , Modern, and Hip Hop. Kid Korner

By Amanda Greenberg, Age 11 I really enjoy demonstrating for birthday parties at Dance Cavise. I like it because when I'm dancing I'm having so much fun that I don't feel like I'm working. I especially have a lot of fun, because I love to dance. My favorite part about assisting at birthday parties is that the kids at the party are having such a great time, and that makes me feel really good!
